“The pace was steady, the mystery surrounding the murder/s was good, the characters were likeable, all in all a good read.” 4 Stars

“Reading M.E. Purfield…I was strongly reminded of my favorite young adult writer, Paul Zindel. Both writers have a knack for writing real urban teenagers in real urban situations and putting them through the emotional wringer.” 5 Stars

Allen Richards, B-Independent.com.

This is the official site of international selling author M.E. Purfield who writes fast-paced mysteries , crime, young adult, and dark urban fantasy; all usually in the same book.

He started off writing the reader acclaimed, controversial young adult novels jesus freaks + buddha punx and Party Girl Crashes the Rapture.

But then he wrote the noir fantasy mystery novel A Black Deeper Than Death, which introduced teen psychic and artist Miki Radicci. He created a character, world, and mystery so complex that the story couldn’t be contained in the standard industry trilogy.

Currently the Miki Radicci series is 11 books and will soon break off into a new series to further deepen the Tenebrous Chronicles.

Some of his short stories had appeared in Unwinnable Magazine, The Norwegian American, Broken Pencil, Literary Hatchet, Crooked Holster 3, and Akashic Books ‘Mondays are Murder’.

M.E. Purfield is also a high functioning autistic and blogs about his experiences on this site. He lives in N.J. with his family.
